Skin Care in Cold Weather

Chapped lips, fragile fingernails and crackedskin are all signs of winter's arrival, and it's no doubt that this time of year wreaks havoc on women's delicate bodies. It's difficult to maintain that salon French manicure when your cuticles are peeling away, or when your hands have become so dry that your pretty nails are the last thing on your mind. With all the time spend outdoors skating, skiing, shopping, and celebrating the season, you'll want to ensure you look great- and that means every inch of you!
Lotions and Potions: The Body Shop's Body Butters smell wonderful, are inexpensive in comparison to other creams on the market (approximately $20 for 200 ml), and come in several different heavenly scents (such as strawberry, mango, satsuma, and coconut). Enriched with ingredients like shea butter, essential oils, and cocoa butter, these are definitely lotions which every girl should keep on hand (literally!)
Also, be sure to try Sea Island Cotton and Warm Vanilla Sugar body lotions from Bath and Body Works. The fragranced lotions, which are enriched with Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E, create a smooth texture without leaving your skin feeling slick or greasy. Available in smaller sized bottles, these are perfect for keeping in your purse or desk drawer at work, and make good last-minute gift ideas for that friend you've forgotten to shop for. For those who like invigorating fragrance in a pretty pink bottle, the Secret Garden Hydrating Body Lotion collection by Victoria's Secret features luscious ingredients such as aloe and Vitamin C.
Lips: Keep applying lip balm frequently throughout the day, especially while outdoors. You may have found that perfect shade of lipstick for that party you've been invited to, but it will look awful if applied over chapped, weathered, and fully winterized lips! The Body Shop has a great collection of tinted lip balms known as Born Lippy, which give you both colour and moisture at once (and smell as amazing as their lotions).Their Hi Shine Lip treatment ($13) is an excellent gloss too, as it not only offers a touch of shine, but also comes in nine beautiful shades and contains Namibian marula oil.
Nails: It's best to use natural and nourishing products so both the skin surrounding your cuticles and the polished talons you've been growing all month stay in shape.
Remember to stay hydrated, rested, and eat healthy meals as much as possible over the next couple weeks in order to maintain radiant skin and a natural glow this winter.
