Mistakes to Avoid in Eye Makeup

Whilst it is useful having tips on how to do eye make up it is also important to know what the common mistakes are, so that you do not make the same mistakes yourself!

It is essential that you do not use too much mascara on your eyelashes as it will just look badly done and smudged and you will lose the definition of your lashes.

You should also be patient and wait before applying more than one coat - otherwise it won't work and be taken right by the eye.

Finally, be sure to use a shade of mascara that is not too dark for your skin. Thus, unless you have dark brown or black hair try to avoid black mascara, but rather go for a shade of brown.

    Tips for Beautiful Hands

When you hear about wrinkles and skin aging, your first thoughts are about face and neck. But the earliest signs of aging will show on your hands.

Often neglected, hands need to be regularly taken care of. Frequent contacts with water and chemicals, sun, cold weather, gardening – all put your skin under a big stress. While hands do not have many oil glands, they will give away your age earlier than your pampered face.

In the meantime, it has been noticed that after making eye contact, the next thing people pay attention to is your hands.

What can you do to keep your hands beautiful?

    * Moisturize! Several times a day. Dry skin is easily injured and looks wrinkled.

    * Protect your hands – wear gloves when gardening, washing dishes, or dealing with chemicals

    * Use sun protection

    * Keep your hands dry. Any water left on your hands will evaporate and dry out the skin.

    * Give your hands a special treatment – herbal or oil bath – once in a while.

Here are a few suggestions for your next hand spa:

    (1) Herbal hand bath:

Bring 1 qt of water to boil and pour over 1 tbsp of herbs (you can use all of these or just one: chamomile, nettle, sage, coltsfoot, calendula). Let the infusion cool to 100-110F and soak your hands in it for about 15-20 minutes. Dry your hands thoroughly and apply a rich moisturizer.

    (2) You can make your own nourishing hand cream:

Thoroughly mix 1 teaspoon of honey and 3 tbsp of unsalted butter. Add 1 tbsp of strong herbal infusion. This will make a very rich cream. It will take a while to absorb, but leave your hands silky and smooth.

    (3) For dry skin use this hand treatment 1-2 times a week:

    * 1 tbsp Glycerin

    * 1 Egg yolk

    * 2 tbsp vegetable oil (olive, almond, or another oil of your choice)

    * Lemon Juice of 1 lemon

    * 3 1/2 – 4 oz of an herbal infusion (for example: chamomile, calendula, elderflower) or rose water.

    Exercises for Beautiful Hands

Trying on summer clothes in front of the mirror, you can see not an attractive picture – hand muscles has lost elasticity, become sluggish and put on some weight. You can solve this problem in several ways.

    Method 1: out of sight

Of course, it's very unpleasant to feel that your muscles are not in good shape. "Sealing" yourself with long-sleeved blouses and jackets, you can hide this shortcoming. Of course, in summer, you will have to sweat.

    Method 2: Tension

If the muscles are out of shape it is especially noticeable when moving hands. Therefore, you can ask yourself a setting to stretch the muscles at each wave of the hand. In this case, the surrounding will not see the flabbiness of the hand muscles, but only constraint motions.

    Method 3: Rowing

Among fans of rowing the muscle tone of the hands is in order. For example, for a one-week trip by canoe hand muscles are pulled in a way that the problem recedes for at least 4 month. You don't have to go very far away from civilization, and can just wave paddles at city pools, rowing a boat.

    Method 4: Home fitness

In order to keep hand muscles taut and beautiful you should work over three shoulder muscles: biceps, triceps and deltoid.

For the exercises you will need 2 dumbbells each 1.5 kg. They can be replaced with plastic bottles with water or sand.

While doing exercises test the tension of that muscle, which you are currently training.

    Warming up
Jumping with skipping rope, an improvisation under the music or a fight with an imaginary opponent will be a perfect start of the training.  In order to warm up the shoulder muscles, use exercises which are known from childhood: rotating with straight hands and jerk bent in front of the breast with your hands.

    Training deltoid muscle

If in 50's of the last century, people with sloping shoulders were considered to be fashionable, now everything has changed – the shoulders should be straight. This can be achieved by training the deltoid muscle, which is felt when we raise our hands up. The starting position for all exercises: stand up straight, feet at shoulder width, hands with dumbbells in your palms.

Lift slightly the hands to the shoulders.
    Repeat this exercise 7-10 times.
Lift your hands straight ahead to the chest. Then drop them without bending.
    Repeat this exercise 7-10 times.
Lift the dumbbells along the body to the armpits.

    Repeat this exercise 7-10 times.

    Training biceps
Is there any man who does not like to play with biceps, showing ladies his virility? Beautiful muscles can decorate even women's hands. You can feel biceps when you bend your arms in the elbow, putting the heavy bags bought for a week of provisions in the trunk.

The starting position for all exercises: stand straight, feet at shoulder width. Bend your arms in the elbow, in order to remain the elbows against the waist.

    Repeat this exercise 7-10 times.

Bend your arms in the elbow one by one.

Repeat this exercise 5-7 times for each hand.

    Training triceps

If the biceps and the deltoid muscles are always in motion, triceps always "sit" on the spare bench. This leads to the fact that people even youth, have unattractive triceps. So, seeing your friends off and shaking them goodbye, you can easily demonstrate to others your flabby triceps.

    Exercises with dumbbells

Stand up straight, feet at shoulder width. Hands with dumbbells pressed to the body and the palms turned to the body. Lean forward.

Unbend and bend the hand, following that the elbows are pressed to the waist.

    Repeat this exercise 7-10 times.

Lie on the stomach. Hands with dumbbells stretch along the body.
    Raise your hands up.

    Repeat this exercise 10-12 times.

    Exercises without dumbbells – push-ups

Sit down squat back to the chair. Hands put on a seat.
    Wring out from a chair.

    Repeat this exercise 3-5 times.

Stand up in a distance of a step from the wall. Hands rest against the wall at chest level.

Wring out of the wall, keeping body straight following that the heels do not hop off the floor and hands in the final position are compressed against the body.

    Repeat this exercise 3-5 times.

Training in this way three times a week, in a month will be noticeable that your hands are strong and the muscles are stretched.

How to Apply Eye blusher !

Blushers give a radiant look to the face. They come in two forms: the cream and powder form. A powder blusher should be applied after the application of the powder and a cream blusher should be applied before the application of the face powder. The blusher must be applied below the cheekbones and never lower than the nose or higher than the eyebrows.
Blush is available in compact and cream forms and comes in three basic shades: peach, pink, or brown. Matte natural colors are best. Powder blush is the easiest to handle. It's important to keep your brushes clean, otherwise, they'll gather bacteria and transfer it onto your skin.

This will inevitably cause spots and blackheads. Cream blush is best for dry skin because it contains oils which moisturizes your skin. It should not be taken inwards further than the iris of the eyes. The cheekbones can be highlighted with a larger color when they are flat.

A blusher can also be applied to perfect the flaws in the shape of the face. For a square face, place the blusher high on the cheekbones and blend it smoothly and softly inwards.

To make a round face appear longer, blend the blusher from the cheekbones downwards. Remember to use a blusher sparingly. It should just give the impression of being there and not be strong enough to attract attention to it.

Blush has a tendency to darken with body heat, so make sure you apply blush sparingly. And always apply color cosmetics in natural light whenever possible so you know exactly what your make up will look like. Powder blushers suit all skin and are especially good for OILY SKIN. If you prefer the matte finish, use a powder blusher after setting your make up with powder.

    How to Apply Blush
Here are some tips to use while applying blush :

After applying blusher, dust with pressed powder. Now pat a damp cotton wool ball to set the color on your cheeks. This will make the color last longer. Blush should always be applied in a subtle fashion, but not so subtly that it disappears altogether.
For a long, narrow face: Apply the color lesser than the lower edge of the cheekbone and keep the angle horizontal for such a face to create the width of the face.
For round, square face: Apply color in the middle of the face. Don't get close on the nose.
For skin look clearer: Apply blusher to the apple of your cheeks. Blend it back but don't go further than the corner of the eye.
Clean blush brushes are very important to avoid bacteria transfer in skin and thus, one should clean them with non-soapy cleansers and baby wipes.
Never use blush on underside of cheekbones.
Blend into your foundation and at the hairline, with one soft horizontal motion on the top of the vertical strokes, without brushing any color onto the hair.
Often the small blush brush that comes with the cosmetic is of no use. A full round brush gives a professional look and make the overall look softer and more desirable. It is important to have separate brushes for the blush and the powder.
Powder blush should always be applied in one direction to avoid streaking.
Put the blush into the brush, taping off any excess or put a dab of gel on your fingers.

    Applying Eye Lashes

Here are the list of some tips and tricks on how to apply eye lashes :
    • While applying mascara, begin from the roots and then move towards the tips for best results.
    • Use brown/black mascara instead of a black one. This will give you a softer and more flattering look.
    • Mascara looks good only if your eyelashes are in good condition. Use a good lash conditioner to improve the quality of your lashes.
    • When you are in a hurry apply just one coat of mascara only to the top lashes. This is quick and will make your lashes look natural.
Note: Remember to replace your mascara one in three months.

    How to Apply Mascara

To apply mascara effectively, coat the upper and lower surfaces of the lashes. Tilt your head down and look down into the mirror. Draw the wand across the top surface of your upper lashes. Then tilt your head up, lookup into the mirror and coat your lashes from the root to the tip.
It is important that mascara is used on an individual only to avoid transferring eye infections and if it causes even the slightest irritation in the eye, it must be immediately discarded. Apply mascara to all of the upper lashes from one corner of the eye to the other, but sometimes this method may look too strong.

There are two basic types of cosmetic mascara: waterproof and regular. Regular mascara is easier to remove at the end of the day but to remove waterproof, you need an eye make up remover.

Then, looking straight into the mirror apply the mascara lightly to the bottom lashes, first with one horizontal stroke from the inner to the outer corner of the eye and then with short vertical strokes from root to tip. Switch off the fans while applying mascara, as the air will dry it up.

Wait for each coat to dry before applying the next. Less mascara is used on the lower lashes and extra color should be blotted off using the tissue paper. Usually women opt for more than one coat of the mascara, which combs the lashes too so that they do not look stuck together.

    Tips for applying eye mascara
Thin and short brush is best as it is easier to control and gets to the corner of the eye easily. It is also advisable to powder the under-eye area before applying mascara to avoid smudging.
Never curl your eyelashes after applying mascara because they can stick to the pad on curler.
Contact lens wearer should use waterproof mascara's formula as there is minimum chance of any flakes getting into the eyes.
Always remove mascara before going to bed. This will keep lashes healthier
To apply mascara, place your finger about mid-lid or on your eyebrow and pull up in order to hold your lid taut.
Use an eyelash comb to separate the wet lashes base, wiggling the brush & then comb the mascara to the tips of your lashes. Not into the lash comb? Get rid of clumbs without them by removing excess mascara from the wand.
Basic mascara rules are simple: Black works for everyone but blondes. Blondes should opt for brown/black by day & reserve black for night. Blue mascara, however, can brighten blue eyes, purple mascara can make brown eyes pop.

    Tips to Remove Mascara
Mascara must be removed very carefully to avoid damaging the delicate skin around the eyes. Try removing the final traces of mascara with a cotton bud dipped in cleanser. When you removing the mascara avoid the colour from going onto the delicate area below the bottom lashes and close your eyes.

    Great Makeup Tips

Your wedding makeup plays a big part in how you will look and feel on the day. A common concern of brides is how long their makeup will last. At an all-day event you don't want to be ducking out of the reception or worrying during the ceremony that your makeup is running off your face or disappearing altogether.

While you will have time to do some touch ups before photos, plan for those times when touch ups aren't available. Here are eight makeup survival tips to leave you looking fabulous!

    Flawless Foundation

You want to make it appear as if you aren't wearing foundation. Do this by blending the foundation with your skin tone. The question is not if it will blend but how long it will take to blend. The closer the foundation is to the natural shade of your skin, the quicker it will blend in and the more natural it will appear. For glowing skin, use a shimmer foundation.

To make it last longer, fold a tissue into a square and after you have applied the foundation, gently press the tissue onto it. This will take away excess oil and leave only the color behind.

    Delete Dark Circles

If there are dark circles under your eyes from all the wedding planning you've done, these can be faded using eye shadow. If the darkness is grey, a soft pink eye shadow will cover up the dark area nicely. If the circle has more of a blue hue, use a matte peach eye shadow to get rid of the color. To make this effect last, apply the eye shadow before you apply your foundation and concealer. This will also have you using less foundation and concealer!

    Perfect Powder

Instead of using a powder puff to apply your powder, use a large brush. This will take away any shine that is likely to crop up during the day had you used a puff. Use only as much powder that's absolutely necessary. Wearing too much makes your skin shiny due to excess sweat buildup. Use a lightweight powder for the same reason. Test before you buy. Place a bit of powder onto a brush and gently blow some of it off. If it immediately drops to the ground, it's too heavy. If it stays in the air before gently falling, you have found what you are looking for!

    Beautiful Blush

To make your blush appear more natural, choose a brush that is the same size as the apple of your cheek. After placing a small amount of blush on the brush, gently tap it onto the apples of the cheek. Then blend it gently up and back towards the temples. Once you think there is enough on, blend it with a makeup sponge that hasn't been used for anything else. Not only will this provide a better blend but the sponge will also cement the blush into the foundation, making it last longer.

    Luscious Lips

To make sure that your lipstick lasts all day, use a trick from the 1940s when women would powder first and then apply. Press powder onto your lips and then with a lip pencil, color the entire lip. Apply the lipstick and then powder again, repeating the process.

    Elegant Eyebrows

First tweeze any hairs that are out of place. Only pull hairs one at a time and after each hair, step back from the mirror to make sure that you don't end up with a surprised look! Brush the hair and color it with a shade that is slightly lighter than that of the hair. If the color is too dark, it will end up making you look cold and harsh. Run a toothbrush over your brows to make sure that the color is fully blended. Run lip gloss over the brows to make the color stay and give you a glowing look.

    Eye Makeup Tips

Begin your eye makeup by applying a soft white eye shadow on the brow bone and in the corners. With a very light brown eye shadow, color in the crease of the eye. Downplay your eyes to draw focus on your lips and cheeks or create attention by using very dark mascara. Definitely use waterproof mascara and make it stick by running brown eyeliner over the lash beforehand.

    Finishing Touches

If you get the feeling you are wearing too much makeup, lightly spray your face with water. Not only can this make your skin feel better but will also help your makeup set.
